KABUL: State-owned oil and gas companies of Afghanistan and Azerbaijan have reached an agreement to implement joint projects, expand technical cooperation, and explore investment opportunities.
According to a statement from Afghanistan\u2019s state oil and gas company on Wednesday, the agreement was made during a meeting between the Afghan delegation and Anar Akhundov, Azerbaijan\u2019s Deputy Minister of Economy, in Baku.
The two sides discussed strengthening direct commercial ties between their state-owned energy firms, assessing investment opportunities, and enhancing collaboration in the oil and gas sector.
Mohammad Nasir Rahimi, CEO of Afghanistan\u2019s state oil and gas company, highlighted the country\u2019s energy sector as a promising area for investment and emphasized the importance of partnerships with experienced international companies.
Representatives of SOCAR (State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic) expressed interest in expanding cooperation and pledged to take necessary steps toward implementing joint initiatives.
