KABUL: The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, has approved in principle a major housing project named \u201cGolbahar,\u201d expected to be developed with an $8 billion private sector investment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to a statement from the deputy PM\u2019s office today, the meeting was chaired by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The planned township will be constructed on approximately 11,000 jeribs of land and is designed with a focus on urban development and economic value. Following its initial approval, the project has been referred to a technical committee led by the Economic Deputy Office for further detailed studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The committee has been tasked with conducting comprehensive assessments covering technical, economic, social, and environmental aspects, and is expected to submit its report within three months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Officials say private investors have shown strong interest in the project, and its implementation could not only provide housing but also create employment opportunities for tens of thousands of people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
