{"id":20644,"date":"2026-04-29T05:16:50","date_gmt":"2026-04-29T05:16:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/omidradio.com\/en\/?p=20644"},"modified":"2026-04-29T05:16:51","modified_gmt":"2026-04-29T05:16:51","slug":"iea-signs-145-million-fluorite-mining-deal-in-kandahar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/omidradio.com\/en\/2026\/04\/29\/iea-signs-145-million-fluorite-mining-deal-in-kandahar\/","title":{"rendered":"IEA signs $145 million fluorite mining deal in Kandahar"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>KABUL: Afghanistan\u2019s Ministry of Mines and Petroleum has signed a contract worth 145 million afghanis for the extraction of a fluorite mine in Kandahar province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a statement from the ministry, the mine is located in the Nesh district and the 30-year contract was signed between Mawlavi Abdul Rahman Qanet, Deputy Minister for Policy and Programs, and the private company Amania Mining Company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the agreement, the government will receive a 35% royalty from processed output, provided the company operates in line with mining laws and contractual obligations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ministry added that the company is also required to meet social and environmental responsibilities as part of the contract.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Officials say the project is expected to create employment opportunities for around 150 people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fluorite is a valuable mineral used in chemical industries, including the production of hydrofluoric acid, as well as in metal processing and cement manufacturing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KABUL: Afghanistan\u2019s Ministry of Mines and Petroleum has signed a contract worth 145 million afghanis for the extraction of a fluorite mine in Kandahar province.
