KABUL: A lawyer for Imran Khan, founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, has told the Islamabad High Court that the former prime minister has lost around 85 percent of vision in one eye while in prison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lawyer Salman Safdar said both Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, are facing serious health issues and require surgery due to eye infections, but lack access to adequate medical care in detention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Safdar added that during a recent meeting, Khan told him he has only about 15 percent vision remaining, with doctors reportedly describing the damage as irreversible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also stated that Khan is being held in solitary confinement for up to 22 hours a day, while Bushra Bibi is kept isolated for up to 24 hours, conditions he argued violate court orders and could be considered a form of torture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Referring to delays in Bushra Bibi\u2019s bail request, Safdar said the application has been pending for over a year, calling it an example of the lack of implementation of justice, particularly concerning women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
