Secretary-General Ant\u00f3nio Guterres expressed hope that the temporary halts in fighting would be fully implemented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a statement, the UN said Guterres reiterated his call for a \u201cfull, immediate, unconditional and lasting ceasefire.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ukraine\u2019s move comes ahead of Russia\u2019s planned ceasefire on May 8\u20139, marking Victory Day in World War II.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Zelenskyy has said Kyiv has not received any formal request from Moscow regarding the implementation details of its proposed truce.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KABUL: A unilateral ceasefire announced by Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, has come into effect in the war with Russia.
