{"id":20987,"date":"2026-05-10T12:39:06","date_gmt":"2026-05-10T12:39:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/omidradio.com\/en\/?p=20987"},"modified":"2026-05-10T12:39:07","modified_gmt":"2026-05-10T12:39:07","slug":"kunduz-gold-extraction-contract-worth-over-20-million-signed-between-mines-ministry-and-afghan-and-azerbaijani-companies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/omidradio.com\/en\/2026\/05\/10\/kunduz-gold-extraction-contract-worth-over-20-million-signed-between-mines-ministry-and-afghan-and-azerbaijani-companies\/","title":{"rendered":"Kunduz gold extraction contract worth over $20 million signed between Mines Ministry and Afghan and Azerbaijani companies"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>KABUL: The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum has signed a gold mining contract in Kunduz worth more than $20 million with an Afghan and an Azerbaijani company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to ministry spokesman Humayun Afghan, the agreement was signed Sunday by Mawlavi Hedayatullah Badri, Minister of Mines and Petroleum, and representatives of the Afghan company Subhan Momand and Azerbaijan\u2019s Rif Group LLC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The five-year contract was signed in the presence of the ambassadors of Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the statement, the investing company has pledged to pay a 30 percent royalty and spend an additional $200,000 on social services projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum said the project is expected to create around 100 direct and indirect jobs once extraction begins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ambassadors of Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan welcomed the ministry\u2019s cooperation with the companies involved and said investors from both countries are prepared to expand investments in Afghanistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minister Badri described the agreement as an important step toward strengthening economic cooperation among the three countries and reiterated that Afghanistan welcomes both domestic and foreign investment in its mining sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ministry also signed a separate $24 million agreement for the extraction of a polymetal mine in Faryab province, last week.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KABUL: The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum has signed a gold mining contract in Kunduz worth more than $20 million with an Afghan and an Azerbaijani company.
