KABUL: Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Emirate, met with Yue Xiaoyong, the Chinese President\u2019s special envoy for Afghanistan, here in Kabul, to discuss strengthening bilateral relations, regional security, and the progress of the Urumqi dialogue process.
During the meeting, the Chinese envoy stressed the importance and continuity of the Urumqi dialogue process, describing it as an important framework for regional stability and coordination.
He said the next phase of the process should focus on achieving practical results through serious engagement, confidence-building, and mutual understanding.
Muttaqi stated that regional stability, balance, economic cooperation, and relations based on mutual respect remain the core principles of Afghanistan\u2019s foreign policy.
The success of the dialogue process depends on concrete actions, strengthening trust, and reducing tensions, he said, adding that the Islamic Emirate has already taken significant steps in these areas.
