KABUL: Russian forces resumed attacks on Ukraine following the end of a three-day ceasefire between Kyiv and Moscow, launching 200 drones and 80 aerial bombs overnight, Ukrainian officials said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the attacks on Tuesday, saying the strikes were carried out late Monday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Zelensky, the attacks targeted \u201cenergy facilities, residential buildings, and a kindergarten\u201d in the cities of Dnipro, Zhytomyr, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, and Kyiv.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Ukrainian president said there were reports of deaths and injuries among civilians, adding that the exact casualty figures were still being assessed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe have said that we will respond proportionally to all Russian actions,\u201d Zelensky wrote. \u201cRussia must end this war, and it is Russia that must take steps toward a real and lasting ceasefire.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Zelensky added that as long as Russia refuses to agree to such terms, sanctions against Moscow remain necessary and should be strengthened further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
