TEHRAN: Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian has thanked Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iraq for preventing their territories from being used against Iran during the recent regional conflict, according to Iranian state media.
In a report published Sunday night, the official website of Iran\u2019s presidency said Pezeshkian made the remarks during a meeting with Mohsin Naqvi, Pakistan\u2019s Interior Minister in Tehran.
The Iranian president reaffirmed Tehran\u2019s desire to expand \u201cfriendly and lasting\u201d relations with regional Islamic countries, adding that greater unity among Muslim nations would reduce foreign interference in the region.
Pezeshkian said that during the conflict involving the United States and Israel, \u201cenemies\u201d had attempted to transfer insecurity into Iran through its northwestern and southeastern regions by providing financial, intelligence, and military support.
\u201cIn this context, I sincerely thank the governments of Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Iraq for not allowing any action against the Islamic Republic of Iran from their territories,\u201d he said.
Afghanistan\u2019s Islamic Emirate has repeatedly stated over the past five years that it will not allow Afghan territory to be used against any country.
