KABUL: The General Directorate of State-Owned Enterprises has said in a statement that officials from the Urban Water Supply and Sewerage State-Owned Company and UNICEF held a meeting to strengthen coordination and expand cooperation on wastewater management in Afghanistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the directorate, the company\u2019s Chief Executive Officer, Mawlavi Ghulam Rahman Kazim, provided an overview of the current state of wastewater management, existing capacities, and future development plans in major cities and key urban centers across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kazim stated that several initiatives are being developed to improve and expand wastewater management systems, but their implementation will require investment and support from partner organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, UNICEF\u2019s Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) official, Farai Tanham, emphasized the importance of effective wastewater management and its role in protecting public health. She reaffirmed UNICEF\u2019s commitment to continuing its support in this sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
