KABUL: Newly released documents indicate that Afghan migrant Mohammad Nazir Paktiawal, who was in the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), died from a severe allergic reaction and respiratory distress.
Paktiawal died on March 14 this year at a hospital in Dallas, Texas. At the time, U.S. authorities described his death as an incident.
According to the newly released death certificate, the cause of death was attributed to a severe allergic reaction that led to breathing complications.
The AfghanEvac organization and two members of the U.S. Congress have called on U.S. authorities to release the full autopsy report to clarify the circumstances surrounding his death.
The head of AfghanEvac said Paktiawal\u2019s family wants to know what substance triggered the allergic reaction and has also requested clarification regarding inconsistencies in the dates recorded on the death certificate.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
