{"id":22704,"date":"2026-07-09T06:11:05","date_gmt":"2026-07-09T06:11:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/omidradio.com\/en\/?p=22704"},"modified":"2026-07-09T06:11:07","modified_gmt":"2026-07-09T06:11:07","slug":"germany-to-begin-deporting-afghans-without-criminal-records","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/omidradio.com\/en\/2026\/07\/09\/germany-to-begin-deporting-afghans-without-criminal-records\/","title":{"rendered":"Germany to begin deporting Afghans without criminal records"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>KABUL: Germany is preparing to deport Afghan nationals without criminal records or security-related offenses to Afghanistan for the first time in several years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the German newspaper taz, at least five Afghan citizens are currently awaiting deportation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The report states that four of the individuals are being held in detention in the state of Bavaria, while one is in custody in the state of Hesse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another Afghan citizen in Lower Saxony was reportedly released due to an administrative error in the handling of his case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Germany suspended deportations to Afghanistan after the Islamic Emirate returned to power but resumed the practice in the autumn of 2024 for convicted criminals and individuals considered security threats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The German government is now planning to expand the policy to include Afghans with no criminal record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to taz, most of the individuals came under review by the Federal Police after returning to Germany from trips abroad, although the German Interior Ministry has denied any change in police procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The German government also announced that between January 1 and June 19, 2026, a total of 87 Afghan nationals were deported from the country, with 77 transported on charter flights and 10 on scheduled commercial flights.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KABUL: Germany is preparing to deport Afghan nationals without criminal records or security-related offenses to Afghanistan for the first time in several years.
