KABUL: Officials of the National Disaster Management Authority have said that the death toll from flash floods in Parun, the capital of Nuristan Province, and several other parts of the province has risen to 20, with around 80 others injured.
Hafiz Mohammad Yousuf Hamad, the authority\u2019s Director of Information and Publications and spokesperson, said that more than 100 people remain missing following the deadly floods.
According to Hamad, the flooding also destroyed homes, agricultural land, and shops, causing extensive financial losses to local residents.
Earlier, Mawlavi Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, expressed condolences over the loss of life and property in Nuristan and wished speedy recovery for those injured.
In a post on X, Mujahid called on all relevant Islamic Emirate institutions to mobilize efforts to protect the lives and property of flood victims and expressed hope that those affected would receive timely assistance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
