{"id":23723,"date":"2026-08-10T09:38:09","date_gmt":"2026-08-10T09:38:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/omidradio.com\/en\/?p=23723"},"modified":"2026-08-10T09:38:13","modified_gmt":"2026-08-10T09:38:13","slug":"over30-people-arrested-in-connection-with-weapons-and-drug-trafficking","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/omidradio.com\/en\/2026\/08\/10\/over30-people-arrested-in-connection-with-weapons-and-drug-trafficking\/","title":{"rendered":"Over30 people arrested in connection with weapons and drug trafficking"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>KABUL: The Ministry of Defense says its forces have seized a large quantity of smuggled goods, including weapons, ammunition, narcotics, medicines and vehicles, during intelligence and border operations conducted over the past three months near the Durand Line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ministry said the seized items included 66 Kalashnikovs, 20 M16 rifles, 17 M4 rifles, 33 pistols and around 8,000 rounds of ammunition for various types of weapons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The forces also seized 45 vehicles, 2,600 kilograms of narcotics, 486 cartons of medical medicines, 2,373 sheep and 34 bundles of fireworks during attempted smuggling operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the ministry, 39 suspected smugglers were also arrested in connection with the incidents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The defense forces said operations against smuggling would be further strengthened to protect the country\u2019s borders and economic interests.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KABUL: The Ministry of Defense says its forces have seized a large quantity of smuggled goods, including weapons, ammunition, narcotics, medicines and vehicles, during intelligence and border operations conducted over the past three months near the Durand Line.
