KABUL: Gunmen have attacked a private mining company in the Mahian Kor area of Chagai district in Balochistan, kidnapping seven workers and taking equipment and fuel worth millions of Pakistani rupees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to reports, eight armed men riding motorcycles entered the mine at around 1 p.m. in an area approximately 15 to 18 kilometers west of Chagai city and held the workers hostage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The abducted workers include four laborers from Gilgit and three local workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sources said the gunmen remained in the area until around 7 p.m. and took away a Zemad vehicle, a pickup truck, more than 20 solar panels, a three-wheeled motorcycle, accommodation and kitchen equipment, gas cylinders, 2,500 liters of diesel and 1,500 liters of petrol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reports said the gunmen carried out the operation for several hours before leaving the area with the abducted workers and the stolen equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Local officials said an investigation is underway and efforts are being made to locate the kidnapped workers. However, no official information has yet been released regarding their whereabouts or the recovery of the stolen equipment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
