Under the contract, the mine\u2019s total extraction capacity has been set at 10,000 tonnes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mohammad Khan Barakzai, an official from one of the contracted companies, said the mining operation is expected to provide employment opportunities for around 30 people this year, with the number projected to increase to 75 next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Local officials in Farah said exploitation of the mine could help create jobs, increase government revenue, and attract greater private-sector investment to the province.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KABUL: Extraction of salt from a salt mine worth 10 million Afghanis has begun in the Kalari area of Pusht Rod district in Farah province.
