KABUL: The spokesman of the Islamic Emirate Mawlavi Zabihullah Mujahid, on the occasion of International Women’s Day \u201cMarch 8\u201d, in a statement stated today that the protection of women’s dignity, honor, and Sharia rights is a priority for the Islamic Emirate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWomen in the country are now fully secure both physically and psychologically, with measures in place to prevent any violence against them and no one has the right to violate women’s rights or view them with disdain,\u201d the statement quoted him as saying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The courts and other Emirate institutions are obligated to make every effort to uphold women’s rights, he said, adding that these institutions must ensure women’s marital rights, rights to dowry and inheritance, and oversee all their rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe fundamental rights of Afghan women are guaranteed within the framework of Islamic Sharia and the culture and traditions of Afghan society. However, it must not be forgotten that Afghan women’s rights are discussed in the context of Islamic and Afghan society, which has clear differences from Western culture, and this must be taken into account in any consideration,\u201d he further said as quoted by the statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
