Refund process for excess fees for pilgrims begins in Kabul, minister

KABUL: The Ministry of Hajj and Islamic Affairs during a ceremony held today started the return of the excess fees collected from this year’s pilgrims (1403).

Speaking in the ceremony, the Acting Minister of Hajj and Islamic Affairs Dr. Shaikh Noor Mohammad Saqib, said that the refund process began today, and each pilgrim will receive their rightful amount.

He noted that over 113 million dollars had been collected from the pilgrims who participated in this year’s Hajj.

He emphasized that out of this amount, $112,300,000 was spent, leaving $1,111,000 as excess fees.

The minister has initiated the distribution of 1,111,000 dollars to the returning pilgrims.

It is worth mentioning that approximately 30,000 pilgrims from Afghanistan attended this year’s Hajj.
