KABUL: Construction and Reconstruction work has been started on 40 schools worth 42.3 million Afghani (some 608,782 U.S. dollars) in Helmand province, the Ministry of Education said in a statement Tuesday.
The projects will be implemented with the financial support of the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) across the province, said the statement.
The residents expressed pleasure over the implementation of the projects and asked for the construction of more schools.
