KABUL: A senior joint government delegation, led by Mawlavi Ahmad Jan Bilal, and including Abdul Rahman Atash, Executive Director of National Development Corporation, representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and a technical team, has traveled to Belarus.
Nabi Arghandiwal, spokesman of the National Development Corporation in a statement said on Tuesday that the delegation met with officials from Belarus’ Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Agriculture, and Industry to discuss political, economic, and commercial issues.
Both sides described the meetings as impactful for Afghanistan-Belarus relations.
The Afghan delegation also held constructive talks with state-owned enterprises and major industrial companies in Belarus, including visits to MAZ, BELAZ, MTZ, AMKODOR, the National Academy of Sciences, the Electro-Technical Factory in Minsk, AVGUST, the State Chemical Fertilizer Administration, and livestock farms under the Ministry of Agriculture.
During the meetings, both sides agreed to further strengthen bilateral and technical cooperation in industry, agricultural machinery, construction materials, food safety, public health, and education.
Belarus has been actively seeking to expand political, economic, and trade relations with Afghanistan over the past four years.
