HERAT: The Herat province’s influential figures and tribal elders have awarded a certificate of appreciation to Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the country’s Foreign Minister, in recognition of his support for the TAPI gas pipeline project.
The award was presented during Muttaqi’s visit to the province in the presence of Maulana Noor Ahmad Islamjar, the provincial governor, the governor’s press office said in a statement on Tuesday.
According to the statement, local leaders praised the minister’s efforts to strengthen economic and trade relations between Afghanistan and neighboring countries.
Islamjar also commended Muttaqi’s role in promoting regional cooperation and advancing major national development projects.
Muttaqi, in turn, expressed satisfaction with ongoing industrial and commercial progress in Herat and emphasized continued efforts to facilitate trade and economic ties with regional partners.
The visit comes as the foreign minister continues a series of provincial trips, including a recent visit to Badghis province, where he highlighted the importance of infrastructure development for balanced national growth.
