KABUL: The Deputy Minister for Policy and Programs of the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum of the Islamic Emirate, Abdul Rahman Qanit, has met with Jeffrey Greco, the head of the Afghanistan- U.S. Chamber of Commerce, to discuss cooperation and investment opportunities in Afghanistan’s mining sector.
According to the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, Greco expressed the chamber’s readiness to support efforts to attract and expand investment in Afghanistan’s mining industry.
For his part, Qanit welcomed the interest shown by the chamber and stated that the ministry would provide the necessary facilities and support, in accordance with mining laws and relevant procedures, to encourage investment by reputable companies in the country’s mineral resources sector.
The meeting comes as Afghan authorities continue efforts to attract foreign investment and develop the country’s mining industry as a key driver of economic growth.
