Devastating floods hit Nepal-Tibet border, killing more than 150

KABUL: Severe flash floods and landslides along the Nepal-China border have caused widespread loss of life and extensive damage, with more than 150 people reportedly killed and hundreds still missing.
Nepalese authorities said at least 157 people have died in the floods, while more than 400 others remain missing. The missing include foreign tourists and religious pilgrims from countries including India, the United States, Britain, Australia and Canada.
The floods have destroyed homes, roads, bridges and electricity infrastructure in northern Nepal, while difficult terrain and damaged infrastructure have hampered rescue operations.
Officials said the affected areas are popular destinations for mountaineers and religious pilgrims.
