KABUL: U.S. Vice President JD Vance has said the ongoing military confrontation with Iran cannot be described as a “war,” adding that Washington will not announce a specific timeline for ending the situation.
Speaking at a White House press briefing, Vance said there is currently no sustained ground war between the United States and Iran, while acknowledging that the situation has intensified and expanded at certain stages.
Asked whether the clashes with Iran would end before the November midterm elections, Vance said that announcing a specific timeline for the end of the conflict or tensions would be “irresponsible.”
Vance stressed that the Trump administration does not want to disclose its strategy or timeline for future actions toward Iran in advance.
