KABUL: Mawlavi Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, says the State Ministry for Disaster Management provided food and non-food assistance to more than 672,000 families during the Islamic year 1447.
Radio Omid, quoting Mujahid, reported that during the same period, 398,454 families received nearly 2 billion Afghanis in cash assistance.
According to Mujahid, 4,353 houses were constructed or reconstructed to accommodate people affected by natural disasters, while 278 preventive and protective projects were also implemented.
He further said that more than 108 square kilometers of mine-contaminated areas were cleared, while more than 2.357 million people received awareness training on the dangers posed by landmines.
