KABUL: The country’s Minister of Public Health Mawlavi Noor Jalal Jalali, in a meeting with Indian Chargé d’Affaires Jatin Patel, has discussed expanding health cooperation between the two countries.
The Ministry of Public Health said in a statement that the two sides discussed strengthening health services and expanding cooperation in the sector.
Jalali asked India to support the Indira Gandhi Children’s Hospital, provide the necessary equipment for the cancer hospital, help build the capacity of health workers and assist in activating the thalassemia unit at Indira Gandhi Hospital.
Patel, meanwhile, assured Afghanistan of India’s continued cooperation in the health sector, saying his country would help equip the thalassemia unit and provide chemotherapy medicines and radiotherapy machines.
