Ariana Afghan Airlines to purchase three charter planes for export sector

KABUL: Officials of the Ariana Afghan Airlines, operating under the umbrella of the General Directorate of Emirati Companies, have announced plans to soon purchase three specialized charter planes aimed at expediting the transit and delivery of goods.
According to a statement from the General Directorate of Emirati Companies, today Bakht-ul Rahman Sharafat, the head of Ariana Afghan Airlines, stated that the planes will be either Boeing or Airbus models, with an estimated cost ranging between 25 to 35 million dollars.
According to Sharafat, the new aircraft will facilitate and reduce the cost of exporting goods.
Officials further emphasized that with the activation of these new planes, Afghanistan’s exports—particularly fresh and dried fruits—will reach global markets more quickly and in larger volumes.
Previously, Ariana Afghan Airlines announced a decision by the Economic Commission to reduce the cargo transportation cost for exporting goods to one dollar per kilogram.
