Economy Minister meet Mercy Corps representative to discusses economic cooperation and climate change

KABUL: Qari Din Mohammad Hanif, the Minister of Economy, met with Sana Johnson, the regional representative of the international humanitarian organization Mercy Corps, and Mariana Van Shern, the organization’s leader.

The Ministry stated that the meeting focused on key discussions regarding the development of economic cooperation in Afghanistan, joint efforts against climate change, and support for the agriculture and energy sectors.

Mercy Corps’ regional representative assured that the organization will continue its supportive efforts in Afghanistan, particularly focusing on assisting returning families, enhancing access to water supply and clean water projects, supporting the agriculture sector, improving technical and infrastructural facilities in the energy sector, and emphasizing environmental conservation and climate-related projects, as well as programs aimed at strengthening small businesses.

The Ministry of Economy noted that such coordinated meetings are vital for the expansion of humanitarian cooperation and the effectiveness of economic projects.
