Mullah Abdul Manan Omari: Afghanistan interested in exchanging skilled labor with Iran

KABUL: Mullah Abdul Manan Omari, the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, stated that Afghanistan is keen on exchanging skilled and professional labor with Iran.

He made the remarks during a meeting with Ali Reza Bigdeli, the Iranian ambassador to Afghanistan, according to a statement from the ministry today.

The Minister emphasized Afghanistan’s intention to establish a systematic and legal transfer of skilled workers, ensuring their rights in Iran, and enhancing capacity-building efforts in collaboration with the Iranian government.

He mentioned the need to facilitate the process of issuing legal work permits for Afghan migrants and to strengthen cooperation in the quantitative and qualitative expansion of vocational training programs in Afghanistan.

Calling for organizing joint vocational training programs with appropriate coordination, the minister underscored the importance of ensuring fair rights for Afghan workers, including their wages.

The Iranian ambassador expressed Tehran’s commitment to cooperating with Afghanistan, stating that such collaboration is not only a humanitarian responsibility but also an urgent necessity for regional stability.

He also conveyed Iran’s willingness to engage in mutual exchanges of skilled and professional labor between the job markets of both countries.

This comes as thousands of legal work visas have been issued by the Iranian government in recent months due to efforts made by the Afghan government.
