KABUL: Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, says serving the people is his top priority and that he handles most government affairs from Kabul rather than making frequent official trips.
In an interview with the BBC, Akhund said: “I remain continuously informed about developments across the country through my deputies and a small telephone.”
“I deal with government affairs during the day and keep my phone active at night so I can respond to matters requiring my attention,” he said.
Akhund added that even at 2 a.m., he remains ready to address government affairs and receives regular updates on the country’s situation through his deputies.
He emphasized that serving the people and ensuring timely follow-up on national affairs remain among his main priorities.
