KABUL: The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs says a 200-bed hospital will be built in Lashkar Gah, the capital of Helmand province.
The office said the project, which will be constructed on 12,000 square meters of land at a cost of 214 million Afghanis, was approved during the latest meeting of the Procurement Commission.
According to the Office, the hospital will provide a range of medical services, including emergency care, internal medicine, outpatient services, orthopedics, surgery, ophthalmology, mental and neurological care, pediatrics, and obstetrics and gynecology.
Construction of the hospital is expected to be completed within the next two years.
This comes as plans for the construction of general hospitals have recently been developed in several provinces across Afghanistan.
