KABUL: The Ministry of Urban Development and Housing has approved the detailed development plan for Section 2.1 of Phase One of New Kabul City, the ministry said.
The plan was approved by Mawlavi Najibullah Hayat Haqqani, according to a statement posted by the ministry on X, the plan covers about 7,200 jeribs of land and was prepared by the Omari Development Company in line with the structural plan for the first phase of New Kabul City.
Under the plan, more than 10,000 residential plots, nearly 900 high-rise residential and commercial buildings, and more than 200 industrial factories are expected to be developed.
The plan also includes the construction of up to 60 mosques, 25 schools, more than 30 health centers, educational and cultural facilities, sports and recreational areas, a cricket stadium, parks and green spaces, as well as other essential urban infrastructure.
The Ministry of Urban Development and Housing said efforts are underway to ensure the orderly and standards-based development of New Kabul City and to meet the city’s growing urban needs.
