LASHKAR GAH: Authorities in country’s southern province of Helmand have prevented the smuggling of 249 cartons of medicines in Marja district, officials said.
The 215th Azm Army Corps press office said the medicines were being transported in three Toyota Saracha-type vehicles and have been stopped and detained by the 7th Border Brigade forces.
Three people were also arrested in connection with the incident, the source said.
Following initial investigations, the suspects will be handed over to relevant authorities for further legal action, according to the statement.
