Saudi-led coalition strikes oil facility in Yemen’s Sanaa, escalating tensions with Houthis

SANAA: An airstrike by the Saudi-led coalition has targeted an oil facility in Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, raising fears of further escalation in the conflict between Saudi Arabia and the Houthi movement.
According to reports, the strike came after the coalition ordered the evacuation of areas surrounding the central storage facility of an oil company in western Sanaa ahead of the military operation. Houthi-affiliated media reported that the attack hit the company’s facilities.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia has warned that the Houthis will face serious consequences for their repeated attacks against the kingdom.
Earlier, the Saudi-led coalition said it had intercepted three missiles launched towards Riyadh, the Saudi capital.
Threats of possible retaliatory attacks by the Houthis against key Saudi facilities have further heightened tensions between the two sides.
The continued exchange of attacks and threats has raised concerns about a broader escalation of the conflict and a deterioration in the region’s security situation.
