KABUL: The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) in Afghanistan said in a statement today that it has provided assistance to over 1,000 recent flood-affected families in the eastern parts of the country.
Food assistance was provided to 524 families affected by floods and storms in the eastern provinces of the country, said the statement adding that 440 other families have received cash assistance.
The UNOCHA has also distributed non-food items to 188 families in the respective provinces, said the statement.
According to the statement, also 16 mobile teams are currently providing health services to flood-affected families in the eastern provinces of the country.
It is worth mentioning that previously, the Islamic Emirate authorities had also distributed food and non-food assistance to flood-affected families in the eastern parts of the country.
