Iran’s FM Araghchi to rejoin talks in Islamabad after Oman consultations

KABUL: Dr. Sayed Abbas Araghchi, Foreign Minister of Iran, has traveled to Muscat, capital of Oman, after concluding a visit to Pakistan, Iranian officials said.
Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry said on Saturday night, that this is Araghchi’s first regional trip following recent U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran.
Meanwhile, Tasnim News Agency reported that Araghchi is expected to return to Islamabad on Sunday night after his talks in Oman.
According to the report, part of the Iranian delegation had earlier returned to Tehran for consultations on issues related to ending the conflict and is expected to rejoin Araghchi in Islamabad.
Baghaei emphasized that Tehran places great importance on its relations with Gulf countries and remains committed to strengthening mutual trust and constructive cooperation.
Araghchi had initially been expected to travel from Oman to Russia for further talks with senior officials.
The development comes as Donald Trump, President of the United States, reportedly canceled a planned visit by U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Islamabad for talks with the Iranian delegation.
