KABUL: The death toll from the powerful 6.8 magnitude earthquake in China has risen to 136, with around 400 others injured, Chinese media reported this morning, citing officials from the country.
According to Chinese authorities, the number of fatalities and injuries has increased due to ongoing search and rescue operations and the efforts to free victims trapped under debris.
Government officials have also stated that thousands of families from earthquake-affected areas have been evacuated to safer locations.
Yesterday, an earthquake struck the “Tibet” region in western China with a magnitude of 6.8, causing significant tremors.
