Afghanistan, India play out goalless draw in FIFA World Cup Qualifiers

KABUL: India played out a goalless draw against Afghanistan after both sides failed to turn their opportunities into goals in a Group A fixture of the 2026 FIFA qualifiers at the Damac Club Stadium in Abha, Saudi Arabia on Friday.

Ashley Michael Westwood, the coach of the national football team, stated in a press conference yesterday that after several days of training and preparation, the national team players took to the field against the Indian football players.

According to the country’s Football Federation statement, this is the third game of the national football team held as part of the preliminary qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2027 AFC Asian Cup.The Ministry emphasized in the statement as qouted by Balkhi that regional countries should coordinate, respond, and take a decisive stance in such cases.

Such events are carried out with the aim of destabilizing the region, said the statement.

The Kharijities launched attack in a concert near the Moscow city, in which 40 people have been killed, and around  140 others have been injured.
