KABUL: As many as 101 Afghan refugees who were imprisoned by the Pakistani government were released yesterday and have returned to Afghanistan, the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations said in a statement.
According to the statement, the Afghan refugees, while entering the country via the Spin Boldak crossing in Kandahar provinces, in addition to the registration and distribution of humanitarian aid, have also been transported to their origin homes.
In recent months, the Pakistani government has detained thousands of Afghan refugees under the pretext of illegal residency, subjecting them to difficult circumstances.
