KABUL: Atal Mashwani, spokesperson for the General Directorate of Olympic, Physical Education, and Sports, said on Saturday night, that Afghan boxers competing in the Asian Championships have successfully secured five medals for Afghanistan.
The Afghan boxers have achieved three bronze medals and two silver medals, he said.
The bronze medalists include Oman Hotak, Firdous Najibi, and Mujtaba Sharifi, while Abdullah Bahir Quyumi and Mobser Qateh secured the silver medals.
The Asian Boxing Championships were held in Sri Lanka from May 12.
Notably, this was the first time that three Afghan athletes advanced to the finals by defeating their opponents.
