KABUL: The International Crisis Group has urged the European Union to apply pressure on Pakistan to respect the fundamental rights of Afghan refugees and to prevent their forced expulsion from the country.
In its report, the group emphasized the importance of EU assistance, calling for the continuation of humanitarian programs in Afghanistan to provide more support for returnees and their host communities.
This comes as Pakistan has recently accelerated the forced expulsion of Afghan refugees. According to the latest report from the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation, over 244,000 Afghan refugees have been forcibly sent back to Afghanistan from Pakistan.
