Minister Jalali inaugurated specialized Thalassemia hospital in Herat

KABUL: Mawlavi Noor Jalal Jalali, the acting Minister of Public Health, during his visit to Herat, inaugurated a new specialized hospital for the treatment of thalassemia (anemia in children).

The Ministry of Public Health said in a statement today that the hospital has been constructed with the support of local leaders and traders.

Jalali described the initiative as unprecedented and a significant achievement.

He urged other traders to collaborate in efforts to provide better healthcare services to the citizens of the country.

The ministry did not disclose the cost of constructing the hospital.

Thalassemia, often referred to as anemia in children, is a hereditary blood disorder that impairs the body’s ability to produce hemoglobin.

Also, the Ministry of Public Health reported the opening of an eye surgery department at Herat Regional Hospital, which has begun operations after renovations and enhancements.
