Afghanistan loses to Syria in the AFC Asian Cup 2027

KABUL: The Afghanistan National Football Federation, said in a statement today that the national team lost to Syria in the AFC Asian Cup 2027.

According to the statement, the game took place in Saudi Arabia and ended with a score of 1-0 in favor of Syria.

The Afghan players went into halftime trailing by one goal, and the second half ended in a draw.

Omar Al-Soma, the captain of the Syrian national team, scored in the seventh minute of the match.

This game was part of the qualifying rounds for the AFC Asian Cup. Afghanistan is grouped with Pakistan, Syria, and Myanmar in the tournament.
