Trump: Ukraine can never join NATO

WASHINGTON: Donald Trump, the President of the United States, stated ahead of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to Washington that Kyiv will never be able to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
Trump made the remarks today on his social media platform, Truth Social, emphasizing that the Ukrainian president has the power to either immediately halt the war with Russia or continue it.
He noted, “Remember how this started. There is no going back to the Obama era when Crimea was given away (12 years ago, without firing a single shot!).”
The remarks come two days after Trump’s meeting with Putin.
Zelensky is scheduled to travel to Washington today for discussions regarding Putin’s demands in his meeting with Trump, which will also be attended by several European and British leaders.
