KABUL: Donald Trump, President of the United States, recently stated that the number of casualties from the Ukraine war represents the highest figures since World War II.
According to the Russian state-run TASS news agency, Trump in an interview with American journalist Mark Levin on Wednesday morning said that the Russia-Ukraine conflict, “I think we were heading towards World War III, but that is no longer the case. That is the good part. You don’t have to worry about that anymore.”
He emphasized the need to see what happens regarding the end of the war in Ukraine, noting that its continuation was leading toward a global conflict.
According to the President, the risk of the Earth heading towards World War III has now been averted.
This comes as Washington is coordinating with European leaders to facilitate a meeting between the presidents of Ukraine and Russia—an initiative suggested by the Kremlin but rejected by Kyiv.
Additionally, the President of France has suggested that a meeting between the Russian and Ukrainian leaders would be better held in Switzerland.
