Rdoğan and Putin discuss various bilateral issues via telephone

KABUL: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone conversation to discuss the outcomes of the Alaska summit, trade relations, and mutual ties between their countries.

According to Turkey’s Anadolu Agency, President Erdoğan expressed that his country is genuinely striving for a just peace and supports any initiative that leads to a lasting resolution involving all parties.

President Putin praised Turkey’s role in the Istanbul process and thanked Turkish officials for their efforts in hosting and facilitating peace talks.

This discussion follows a previous meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and President Putin in Alaska, aimed at addressing the conclusion of the conflict in Ukraine.
