KABUL: Senior officials of the U.S. Department of Defense have informed European allies that Washington will play only a limited role in providing security guarantees for Ukraine.
According to a report by Politico, the remarks were made during a meeting with representatives from the UK, France, Germany, and Finland yesterday.
The discussions also covered potential future aspects of a possible agreement between Russia and Ukraine.
European countries have requested clarification from the U.S. on how much ground and air force support will be allocated to Ukraine in the event of an agreement.
