KABUL: The personnel of the 207th Al-Farooq Army Corps have arrested 20 people accused of attempting to illegally cross the border in Herat province.
In a statement on Sunday night, the corps stated that the individuals intended to leave Afghanistan illegally for Iran and were apprehended in the Ghorian district of Herat by personnel of the National Army.
Illegal migration and border crossings in the western parts of the country have been ongoing, with Afghan nationals frequently attempting to enter Iran without documentation.
This is while, Iranian security forces have been detaining undocumented migrants who enter the country illegally and deporting them back to Afghanistan.
