Mullah Khairullah Khairkhwa: Cultural heritage shared heritage of humanity

KABUL: The Minister of Information and Culture, Mullah Khairullah Khairkhwa, in a meeting with the former special representative of the UN Secretary-General for Afghanistan, Roza Otunbayeva, discussed cultural issues.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Information and Culture, Otunbayeva emphasized the importance and preservation of cultural heritage, referring to Afghanistan’s National Archives and National Museum as treasures of the country’s history and culture.
The statement mentioned that Otunbayeva assured the Minister about the collaboration of relevant institutions in preserving Afghanistan’s cultural heritage.
Additionally, Mullah Khairkhwa spoke about the achievements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, particularly in combating narcotics, eliminating administrative corruption, and ensuring security throughout the country.
He noted that Afghanistan has become the owner of a sovereign central government after 45 years, and the protection of the country’s cultural heritage is among the ministry’s priorities.
He also described cultural heritage as a shared heritage of humanity.
