Pakistan’s airstrikes on residential units in Nangarhar and Khost leave 3 children dead, several injured

KABUL: As a result of drone strikes by Pakistan in parts of Khost and Nangarhar provinces, at least two children have been killed, and numerous civilians, including women and children, have been injured.

The press office of the Nangarhar governor confirmed the airstrikes on Thursday morning, along with local sources from Khost.

According to information, the two strikes targeted residential homes in the “28 Wiala” area of the Shinwar district in Nangarhar and in the Sorkakh Lahori village of the Spira district in Khost.

Local sources from Khost reported that two children were killed in the airstrike, with an unspecified number of others injured.

The press release from the Nangarhar governor’s office indicated that the attack in the Shinwar district resulted in the injury of one woman and four children.

Nangarhar’s Deputy Governor, Mawlavi Azizullah Mustafa, expressed sorrow over the incident and instructed health officials to ensure serious attention to the treatment of the injured.

This is not the first time that Afghan territory has been targeted by Pakistani military airstrikes.
